Compliance
This training intervention introduces learners to health and safety legislation and importance of full compliance, with regard to their legal appointment. The legislation considered in this programme is the Mine Health and Safety Act (MHSA) and Regulations, and the Minerals Act Regulations.
Upon completion of this module, delegates would have an embedded knowledge of the key components, depicted in the Mine Health and Safety Act, regarding their legal appointments and will understand the consequences of non-compliance.
At the end of this course, learners will be able to:
demonstrate knowledge and understanding of the principles of the relevant legislation, as it pertains to their legal appointment.
- Explain the requirements for risk management and HIRA, in terms of Section 11 of MHSA.
- Demonstrate their knowledge of occupational health and safety management systems.
- Describe the legal ramifications of non-compliance in terms of liability, offences, and penalties.
